Tips On Buying A Used Cat!
Thursday, 03 July 2008
By Bob Alexander

My cat Spike was previously owned, but in good condition. He wasn't shaking or throwing up on the floor or having some kind of a fit. For a cat in an animal shelter he seemed to be in pretty good shape! The animal services people said that he was available for adoption which made me wonder if the other animals in the cages were doomed already.

Adoption is just another word for a cat sale! They didn't want us to think this was a business arrangement, so they dulled the verbiage by telling us we were giving him a new home and a future; even hinting that if we didn't take him, he would be meeting the grim reaper the next day.

First Tip: Know what you're going to be spending and decide if the kitten is worth the money, as well as the cat hair on your new sofa when you get home.

The cat cost me almost $100 before I could even get him into the car, which to my way of thinking, I

Sex Was Great- Until We Got Married
Thursday, 03 July 2008
More info...
Esther Perel has written a book on marriage with interesting ideas in addition to an interesting title. The book is Mating in Captivity and it challenges the idea of the sexless marriage. Dr. Perel offers reasons why a couple’s sexual relationship shifts after marriage and kids and offers solutions to remedy this issue. She examines cultural beliefs that support this problem in addition to a theory of how intimacy can squelch sexual desire. Worth reading if this is an issue in your marriage and even if its not. During the holiday break, there are many opportunities to read, one of my favorite hobbies. One of the books I chose was Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking. Joan writes of the year after her husband’s sudden death when she is also dealing with the serious illness of her only daughter. In addition to the topic of grief, Didion handles the lack of control we feel about the events that occur in our lives; made all the more potent in the illusion that at some point we did have control. Her description of the grieving process beautifully

Some Suggested Steps to a Successful Research Paper
1. Choose Your Topic
Choose your topic wisely - not too broad or too narrow, avoid controversial or overworked topics.
Take time to narrow your topic - Do some reading on the broad subject area before narrowing - this may seem like extra work, but it will be MUCH easier to write your paper when you have intelligently narrowed your topic! Use encyclopedias, journal articles, books, web pages.
Does some preliminary research - What kinds of information are available? Choose a topic you can easily research.
Write a thesis statement to define the main idea of your paper. What will you describe or prove? Your thesis statement is your compass; it will keep your paper going in the right direction
2. Research your topic
Make a list of keywords to use. (Write them down!) List synonyms - you never know what will bring up a 'hit' in a database.
Use the Catalog to find books in the TSU collection. Try a variety of keywords, and keywords that are broader

Do You Have Intense Fear of Germs?
Friday, 27 June 2008
By Jerry L. Fobik

From the time we are children, getting dirty is something that is almost a pass time. Our parents try to keep us and our clothes hygienic in vain, because after washing our hands numerous times, we gather ourselves and go right away back to our mud piles. As we grow older, the obsession for playing with dirt is often left behind and we live our lives with a renewed sense of cleanliness. For some people, however, a germ phobia prevents normal life from occurring. This germ phobia is also called mysophobia and can be directly linked with a fear of filth.

This mysophobia is not just being fearful of microbes it's a lot more. The fear of microbes is the fear of any substance that may contain microbes or infect the person in some way with a contamination. The person with a mysophobia can often be noticed washing their hands over and over again, in order to remove any microbes they have come into contact with.

When the mysophobia was first noticed, it was falsely linked with the Obsessive

Health Education Ignites Your Access To Top Medical Care
Wednesday, 25 June 2008
By Curt Graham, M.D.

Perhaps you know it already. Nothing is more important in your life than the status of your health. From brain function to trimming your toe nails requires every function in your body be purring in unison. Health education enables it.

Good health isnt automatic. Your personal responsibilities for maintaining and improving your health are a lifelong obligation---not a privilege. If you dont comply with what health care providers, including home health care nurses, are telling you to do, you suffer. The problem with complying is an ever increasing struggle to get enough time in direct contact with the physician or other healthcare provider to be properly and fully informed.

Your healthcare suffers accordingly.

The smarter you are through health education about how the healthcare system works, and how to use strategies for manipulating the medical care process for your benefit the more ability you will have to easily and quickly propel your healthcare to top. This article tells you how to do that in abbreviated terms.

How much importance you assign to maintaining your health defines your responsibilities for
